Shared offices need simple rules tenants will follow. Central stations and a few secure bins keep contamination and cleaning costs low.

Core bin set

• Central stations per floor: general, commingled, cardboard/paper.
• Secure consoles for confidential paper near printers; certificate of destruction on swap.
• Small caddies for coffee grounds only if you want organics; otherwise keep liquids out of commingled.

Layout and rules

• Remove desk bins; place stations near exits and kitchens.
• Signs with real examples: coffee cups to general, bottles/cans to commingled, food out of cardboard.
• Bar fridges and event areas: add one commingled and one general bin; swap liners before overflow.

Cleaning and reporting

• Night cleaners flatten boxes and keep liquids out of commingled.
• Monthly quick check: fullness at pickup, any overflows, and contamination photos.
